Music and rivers,
Seem to be how things are going these days. I'm guiding on the Tuolumne river, performing, and sometimes doing both at once. This summer is looking like a well smooshed PB&J of the two - delicious, sticky, necessitating water breaks, and nourishing.
California is alive - the color green, clean, high water, fields of scattered Lupin, snow on the peaks, imposing waterfalls, adventure in the air and the stomach butterflies that come along with it. California took a much overdue bath this winter/spring.
I'm humbled to say that the May 24 show with Megan Keely at the Lost Church was SOLD OUT! Thanks to all who made the trip. For those who missed out, I will be playing exciting shows in Palo Alto and Berkeley the first week in June (info below). As Odell Fox and my solo project continue to coexist it feels really special to have an audience for both.
Exciting News: I'm scheduled to record my second solo album this August 8, 9, & 10th in the Bay Area with my friend, producer, and engineer Cookie Marenco!!!

VK Signs - my friend, river guide, expert sign painter, and grandson of the guy who designed the modern whitewater raft! I think we often underestimate tasks like sign painting, website making, pants sewing, architecture, ETC. But upon trying, quickly realize we suck. At least I do. That's where VK comes in, he'll make whatever it is you want on display look nice. Check out his stuff!
John Smith - If you feel like inhabiting a gentle prairie world, with a warm breeze, and smiling people twirling, listen to JS's Sweetgrass right now. I had the pleasure of meeting this Wisconsin based songwriter last weekend at Strawberry Music Festival. He showed up in our jam circle at 2am and we shared tunes and tried to ignore our watches until the even more wee hours. John is a gem.
Asking your friends for testimonials. Thanks Sara Elizabeth Larsen: "If you're not already floating down a river with him, his music will transport you. Jenner Fox is a true luminary in the world of music and rivers." - The deal was she'd only write it if it made the newsletter. Hey Sara.
PS. "Deep down, I am certain that people are plastic in the positive sense: flexible and able to grow. I think almost everything is made, not born, and that makes people uncomfortable because it puts them on the hook, but I truly believe it." - Seth Godin
