When all the writing, recording, re-recording, mixing, mastering, art making, and promotional planning are over, I get to have days like today – to remember that one lovely purpose of creating is to share, and with any luck, connect.
May this song reach you in a quiet moment amongst all the hard and heartbreaking news this week.
“Steady” is the first single on Jeremy Elliott and my acoustic duo record, “The Moon That Moves The Sea,” that will come out in entirety on Feb 23rd. Jeremy and I are wild about how this record turned out, and look forward to sharing it over the next few months.
"Steady" was born in the Club Passim green room in Boston when Jeremy first heard the song and played the interlocking harmony part – two guitars breathing together. We opened with "Steady" that night, have continued to at every show since, and that sound has been the foundation and driving force for the live acoustic record. I wrote “Steady” looking out a window at the Puget Sound contemplating the tides inside and out.
