October 2020: Relief, Time for What You Don't Have Time For
Two things,
1. I'm on stage tomorrow evening (Friday 10/2) with the latest rendition of the Jenner Fox Band. It's a benefit concert in support of Oregon wildfire victims. We'll be playing a 45-minute set for a live outdoor audience, and you can watch the professional livestream for free here! We're on at 6:30pm PT / 9:30pm ET. Proceeds go to the American Red Cross NW Response Fund.
2. This video makes me feel good. There's always time for art that has nothing to do with the things we think we gotta do.
Deep sips, crisp fall air,
Jenner

Fox Recommends
Voting. And my personal favorite way to encourage others to do so too is to write letters. A handwritten letter to me feels like a gift. It's tangled in all the associations with love notes and birthday cards. What a lovely way to encourage people to vote. I've been writing with Vote Forward. There's plenty of time still (the big mail out date is in late October). You get a non-partisan opportunity to tell fellow Americans in swing states why you vote, a creative writing prompt with some stakes...what could be better? Join me and sign up to write letters here.
Tyler Childers' courageous powerful message to fans. Thanks to my cousin Brian for passing this one along.
Camp Catalyst. My sister is awesome and she's offering a virtual workshop on defining goals and making a plan to turn them into your reality. It's a total steal at $45 for the day. October 18th. Hope to see you there.
Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. The joy of rediscovering an album you loved in high school. Did you forget about this one too? The music videos for this record are particularly fantastic.
"[I would like to be remembered as] someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability. And to help repair tears in her society, to make things a little better through the use of whatever ability she had." – Ruth Bader Ginsburg
"So with the wind in his hair, and smile on his face, he crashed through the hood of an Old's 98." – Justin Townes Earle
RIP RBG and JTE. Thanks for the gifts.
